In the month of April my company planned an offsite(3D & 2N trip) which eventually turned out to be 40 hrs in Goa and rest all consumed in travelling Delhi-Goa-Delhi.
My first reaction was "Have I heard it correct..is it really GOAAAA ..???".I was elated,Goa is one such place where the experience will be completely different pre and post marriage.
Nothing could have been better than Goa ,that too just one month before your wedding date.
So that was it..It was GOA..
We started planning for the trip, browsed the pages of lonely planet ,surfed internet, gathered info from the frnds who already have been there so that not a single minute of fun is compromised.
Day1
Finally the day arrived and we were all there on Delhi airport with our bags packed.Conversation with the colleagues was not the same anymore,it was not about work, deadlines, hotfixes rather it was about beaches, beer, sea food, casinos and offcourse fenni..
At 4:00 pm we were on Goa road on our scootys and bikes.Calangut Beach was the nearest and first one to be explored. It was an over crowded beach where we enjoyed water sports and played in sea water till dusk.Every drop of sea water felt like a drop of freedom from the hectic work schedule. We enjoyed the sunset on a shack with king's beer, king size fish and goan music. Now I can actually say ,a party at shack is a must must have when in Goa.
After enjoying an official party in the hotel we headed to our second destination,Baga Beach.Baga beach was definately cleaner ,more relaxed and recluse than the first one.We tried Brittos restaurant on Baga beach wherein we enjoyed the goan veg curry/fish curry with rice along with the lobster. We were just lucky to have a lobster festival in Brittos.
On the next day with a map of Goa and a rented car we headed for Agauda Fort, where we clicked few pictures at DCH point and captured some scenic beauty from the walls of the fort.Next drive was to Anjuna beach, the best beach to haggle and shop at flea markets.Small cafe at a decent elavation and good sea view provided respite from scorching sun and served chilled beer/cold drinks with chicken wings/french fries. After an hour drive on Goan roads our next stop was a mexican restaurant Loco Poco. They served us with burritos, enchilladas and quasidillas, desserts were so yummy that we ate them till the time they were exhausted :).
After a yumm lunch/high tea we all got the tattoos done with everyone experimenting with designs and placement of tattoo and later on the evening was spent gossiping and bitching in our hotel rooms.
The day ended with a long, tiring walk at peaceful Baga Beach after an awesome sea food at a beach restaurant .
Day 3 was just about enjoying the resort,a trip to fish market to see the variety of fishes in Goa, buying the famous Goan Kajus and Kaju fenni of Goa and packing for a 1:00PM flight.
I wish I had one more day to explore Goa,its beaches, its nightlife, casinos and more flea markets.
Goa ceratinly is the place to enjoy at all phases of life.A fun/adventurous place as a spinster and a fun/adventurous/romantic destination afterwards.
